SAP to acquire digital adoption platform WalkMe for $1.5B

Enterprise software giant SAP is acquiring โ€œdigital adoptionโ€ platform providerWalkMe in an all-cash transaction worth $1.5 billion.

WalkMe was valued at less than $880 million at the close of the markets yesterday, and the offer of $14 per share represents a 45% premium.

Founded out of San Francisco in 2011, companies use WalkMeโ€™s software to integrate on-screen product walkthroughs into their software, for instance to guide users through new features or to on-board new employees. This might include little balloon overlays, or even on-screen prompts to try and convert free user into paying customers. Itโ€™s all about automating a process that would otherwise be a resource-intensive endeavor with human help alone.

This is a break story, refresh for updates.
